Eight-woman tag match added to WWE SmackDown

An eight-woman tag match is set to take place on the final SmackDown before Backlash.

Bayley, Naomi, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill will team up against Tiffany Stratton & three members of Damage CTRL on tonight's SmackDown in Lyon, France. The announcement of the match was made during this afternoon's Backlash kickoff fan event.

At Backlash, Bayley is defending her WWE Women's Championship against Naomi and Stratton in a triple threat match. That was made official after Stratton interrupted a title bout between Bayley and Naomi on SmackDown two weeks ago.

Belair & Cargill are challenging Damage CTRL's Asuka & Kairi Sane for the WWE Women's Tag Team titles at Backlash. The premium live event streams live on Peacock starting at 1 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday (May 4).

WWE has also announced that Paul Heyman will be Kevin Owens & Randy Orton's guest for their RKO Show segment on SmackDown tonight. Owens & Orton vs. Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga is happening at Backlash.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles go face-to-face
